Minecraft Ravine Finder
Enter your Java seed to list the nearest ravines (canyons) with X, Y, Z coordinates and a ready-to-copy /tp command. Ravines are not structures, so /locate cannot find them. The carved shape matches the game at about 97%, and about 60% of the surface openings we list were open in the real game.
Approximate: about 60% of predicted ravines exist in the game. /locate cannot check them, so teleport and look before a long trip.
Predicted from world generation. Ravines are carved terrain, not structures, so /locate cannot find them. The /tp button goes to the surface above the widest opening (Y + 1). Only long surface openings are listed, and about 6 in 10 are open in the game.
Where do ravines spawn?
A ravine is a deep, narrow canyon carved into the terrain, often from the surface down to lava level. The finder replays the vanilla canyon carver chunk by chunk, follows each ravine along its path and lists those that reach the surface. The coordinate is the widest opening at the surface.
How to find ravines without a seed map
- Enter your seed and pick a search radius. Ravines are rarer than caves, so start at 600 blocks.
- Use the
/tpbutton. The Y value is the terrain surface above the ravine's widest opening. - Look for the dark gap in the ground and climb down carefully, or use water to land safely.
- If the spot is solid ground, try the next result. About 4 in 10 listed openings are filled in by terrain that the simulation does not model.

Frequently asked questions
How do I find a ravine in Minecraft?
Enter your Java seed in the ravine finder and use the /tp button to the nearest result. Without a seed, look for long dark gaps in the terrain while exploring hills and mountains.
Can I /locate a ravine?
No. Ravines are carved terrain, not structures, so /locate does not support them. Use this finder.
How accurate is the ravine finder?
The canyon carver is reproduced exactly; 97% of the blocks we checked in the real game matched. About 60% of the listed surface openings were open. Treat results as likely, not certain.
Why are some real ravines missing?
The list only includes ravines with a long surface opening to keep wrong results low. Short or buried ravines are skipped.
Do ravines exist on Bedrock?
Yes, but the carver is different, so the positions are not the same. The finder supports Java only.
