Minecraft Dungeon Finder
Enter your Java seed to list the nearest dungeons (monster rooms) with X, Y, Z coordinates, spawner mob and a ready-to-copy /tp command. Dungeons are features, so /locate cannot find them. In the real game about 62% of listed dungeons existed, we found about 75% of the real ones, and the spawner mob was right in 14 of 15 cases.
Approximate: about 62% of predicted dungeons exist in the game. /locate cannot check them, so teleport and look before a long trip.
Predicted from world generation. Dungeons are world-generation features, not structures, so /locate cannot find them. The /tp button goes to the room (see Y). It is inside rock, so dig down or follow a cave. The list is a simulation: about 6 in 10 exist.
Where do dungeons spawn?
A dungeon is a small cobblestone room hidden underground with a mob spawner and one or two chests. The finder replays the vanilla dungeon feature for every chunk: the random position, room size, the checks against rock and caves, and finally the mob chosen for the spawner.
How to find dungeons without a seed map
- Enter your seed and pick a search radius. Dungeons are checked chunk by chunk, so start with 200 blocks.
- Use the
/tpbutton to go to the spawner room. It is inside rock, so dig down or follow the nearest cave. - Check the mob type before you go: zombie and skeleton spawners are best for farms.
- If the spot is solid rock or water, try the next result. About 4 in 10 predicted dungeons do not exist because the simulation does not model every cave and aquifer.

Frequently asked questions
How do I find a dungeon in Minecraft?
Enter your Java seed in the dungeon finder and use the /tp button to the nearest spawner. Without a seed, dungeons are found while exploring caves and ravines.
Can I /locate a dungeon?
No. Dungeons are features, not structures, so /locate cannot find them. This finder gives X, Y and Z.
How accurate is the dungeon finder?
We tested it on the official Java 26.3 server on 2 seeds. About 62% of listed dungeons existed, about 75% of real dungeons in the area were listed, and 14 of 15 spawner mobs were right. Caves and water make an exact prediction hard.
Why does a dungeon need caves in the simulation?
A room only generates if its walls are solid and 1 to 5 openings touch air. The finder needs the surrounding caves to be right, and noise caves and aquifers are only partly modelled.
Do dungeons exist on Bedrock?
Yes, but generation differs, so the positions are not the same. The finder supports Java only.
