Minecraft Cave Finder
Enter your Java seed to list the nearest cave entrances with X, Y, Z coordinates and a ready-to-copy /tp command. Caves are not structures, so /locate cannot find them. We checked the finder in the real game: 9 of 10 sampled entrances (90%) opened into a cave.
Approximate: about 90% of predicted cave entrances exist in the game. /locate cannot check them, so teleport and look before a long trip.
Predicted from world generation. Caves are generated terrain, not structures, so /locate cannot find them. The /tp button goes to the entrance on the surface (Y + 1). Only carver caves are listed; noise caves are not included.
Where do cave entrances spawn?
A cave entrance is a place where a carver cave breaks through the surface, so you can walk in without digging. The finder simulates the same cave carver the game uses, finds the columns where the tunnel reaches the terrain top and groups neighbouring columns into one entrance.
How to find cave entrances without a seed map
- Enter your seed and pick a search radius. Large radii take longer because every chunk is simulated.
- Use the
/tpbutton to go to the entrance. You land at the predicted surface point. - Walk or dig down a few blocks: the tunnel continues below the opening.
- If a spot is solid, try the next result. About 1 in 10 predicted entrances is closed by a block the simulation does not model.

Frequently asked questions
How do I find a cave in Minecraft?
Enter your Java seed in the cave finder and use the /tp button to the nearest entrance. Without a seed, look for dark holes in hillsides and ravines.
Can I /locate a cave?
No. Caves are generated terrain, not structures, so /locate does not support them. Use this finder instead.
How accurate is the cave finder?
We tested it on the official Java 26.3 server on 2 seeds. 9 of 10 sampled entrances opened into a cave. It shows carver caves only, so some caves exist that are not listed.
Does it show noise caves?
No. Cheese, spaghetti and noodle caves come from the terrain noise, which the finder does not simulate. It lists the classic carver caves.
Does it work on Bedrock?
No. Bedrock generates different caves, so the finder supports Java only.
